About Us - Casting for a Cause Fishing Tournament

Casting for a Cause is a non-profit fishing tournament held in Corpus Christi, Texas. The tournament is in its 9th year and is a program organized by employees of NuStar Energy and run through the NuStar Energy Foundation. EIN 26-0629473.

Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors and participants, the Casting for a Cause Fishing Tournament has become one of the premier fishing tournaments in the Coastal Bend. We are proud to share we have attracted over 3,000 anglers and have raised over $750,000 in our first eight tournaments. Now in 2016, we expect to host over 600 participants and raise over $200,000, but we need your help to meet or exceed this goal.

Who Benefits?

Proceeds from Casting for a Cause benefit Haven for Hope, Heroes on the Water (HOW) and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society as well as other local charities. Haven for Hope in San Antonio, Texas, offers a place of hope and new beginnings by providing, coordinating and delivering an efficient system of care for people experiencing homelessness in Bexar County. HOW is a nonprofit program which invites armed service veterans on guided fishing trips to help them decompress from the stresses and rigors associated with combat and rehabilitation. The National MS Society funds cutting-edge MS research and provides programs and services to individuals and families affected by the disease.
